This is a photo of my husband's father's family taken about 1910. In the back row, left to right is Lewis Jasper, Jr. (Bud), Addie, and Jesse (my husband's father). In the front row, Lewis Jasper, Sr., Vanara Waits Russell, two unknown children, possibly the children of Addie or Bud.

This was the second marriage for both Lewis and Vanara, each having been widowed.  The census records all indicate that he was a farmer.  Family history indicates that he also made chairs with rawhide seats.  Jesse, my husband's father, walked to Nokona, Texas one day to take an examination that would qualify him to teach.  On the way home from the examination, he met a young lady, Myrtle Edna Weddle, walking in the opposite direction.  She later became his wife.
